University Library Committee Minutes
January 29, 2001

Present: H. Cannon, A. Goodman, J. Langlois,, V. Neale, M. Newcomb, G. Reid, C. Roney, G. Shreve, R. Holley, L. Sutton

1. The minutes of the December 7, 2000 meeting were approved as submitted.
2. The draft "lather document" was discussed at length. Further suggestions will be incorporated into a final draft to send to the Provost. The Provost will be asked for advice on next steps in the process, either taking the issue directly to the faculty or first to the Academic Senate Policy Committee and the Council of Deans.
3. The proposal for the Scholarly Communications event will be sent to the Provost along with the "lather document" for comment.
4. The next meeting will be held on Monday, February 19 provided that a response from the Provost is received on the issues outlined above.
