Our Purpose: To provide technology equipment and software for individual or small groups of students to use in creating multimedia projects, assignments or other course-related activities.

The Student Technology Studio (STS) supports the mission of Wayne State University by helping students master technology that will enable them to succeed in their courses and become better prepared to participate in a global society and working environment.

Lab Hardware and Software

A sample of our software:

  • Adobe CS2 (including Illustrator, Photoshop, etc.)
  • Macromedia Suite 8 (including Flash, Dreamweaver, etc.)
  • Final Cut Express
  • Microsoft MovieMaker
  • Camtasia Studio
  • Microsoft Office 2007

A sample of our hardware:

  • 3 iMacs (OSX)
  • 4 PCs (XP)
  • Scanners
  • Laser printer (black and white)

Policies

Use of Facility:

  • For currently registered students
  • Must show OneCard
  • Must sign-in
  • Drop-in use

The STS Lab is not to be used for the following:

  • Checking e-mail
  • Surfing the Internet
  • Personal uses not related to coursework
  • Using resources to complete assignments that require only standard hardware and software that is readily available elsewhere on campus or in the libraries
