The Student Technology Studio (STS) supports the mission of Wayne State University by helping students master technology that will enable them to succeed in their courses and become better prepared to participate in a global society and working environment.

WSU's Acceptable Use of Information Technology Resources

Lab Hardware and Software

The lab consists of 10 iMac computers loaded with multimedia editing software. This includes:

  • Photoshop® CS6 Extended
  • Illustrator® CS6
  • InDesign® CS6
  • Acrobat® X Pro
  • Flash® Professional CS6
  • Flash Builder® 4.6 Premium Edition
  • Dreamweaver® CS6
  • Fireworks® CS6
  • Adobe Premiere® Pro CS6
  • After Effects® CS6
  • Adobe Audition® CS6
  • SpeedGrade™ CS6
  • Prelude™ CS6
  • Encore® CS6
  • Bridge CS6
  • Story CS6
  • Media Encoder CS6

Two of the computers are in separate Whisper Room ™ edit studios and those computers have Final Cut Pro as well as Camtasia.

Policies

Use of Facility:

  • For currently registered students
  • Must show OneCard
  • Must sign-in
  • Drop-in use

The STS Lab is not to be used for the following:

  • Checking e-mail
  • Surfing the Internet
  • Personal uses not related to coursework
  • Using resources to complete assignments that require only standard hardware and software that is readily available elsewhere on campus or in the libraries
