Michigan Probate Opinion Bank
In 1984 the State Bar of Michigan Probate and Estate Planning Section, the Executive Board of the Probate Judges Association and the Law Library Director agreed to develop an informal collection of trial court probate opinions. Judges submit opinions that are then abstracted and indexed by law library staff for publication in the Michigan Probate and Estate Planning Journal. There are over 700 opinions included for the years 1973-2001. A cumulative subject index is included on the law library’s web site. A CD-ROM of the full-text of opinions for the period 1973-1996 was created in 1997 but has not been updated. Opinions are sent via fax or mail by staff. The Section reimburses the Law Library on an annual basis for services provided in the name of the Section.
