Preparation for the 2007 NCA Accreditation Visit

Approximate Timeline
Fall 2004
- Announce Self-Study Coordinators
- Appoint Self-Study Steering Committee
- Inform Campus Community about the Self-Study
- Notify Commission of preferred dates for the visit, the name of the Self-Study coordinator,
and any proposed changes in the Statement of Affiliation Status
Winter Term 2005
- Self-Study Committee develops the Self-Study plan and submits
to the commission
- Self-Study Chair establishes a detailed timetable with milestones
- Organize and select principal subcommittees
- March/April 2005, Self-Study Coordinator and committee participate
in the Self-Study Coordinators Workshops at the NCA Annual meeting
- Sub-committees gather data, interview, analyze, and develop draft reports
for submission to the Steering Committee
- Inform campus community about progress of the Self-Study
- Identify technological and other resources needed to support process
Spring/Summer Term 2005
- Subcommittees continue to gather data, interview, analyze, and develop draft reports for submission to the Steering Committee
Fall Term 2005
- Send Commission information on preferences for the composition of the team
- Steering Committee analyzes information prepared, completes studies, prepares rough draft of report
Winter Term 2006
- Self-Study Coordinator and Committee participate in the March/April 2006 Self-Study Coordinators Workshop at the NCA Annual Meeting
- Circulate draft of report for comments and reactions
- Gather additional information as needed and begin to organize information for resources room for team
Summer 2006
- Editor (single author) compiles the Final Self-Study Report
Two months before visit
- Send one complete set of evaluation materials to each member of the evaluation Team and to the Commission liaison
- Prepare for team visit
