What is RSS?
RSS refers to "Rich Site Summary" or "Really Simple Syndication". It allows web sites to deliver updated information to users of RSS reader software. Once subscribed to an RSS feed, you will automatically receive updated information from the website as it becomes available.
What RSS Reader Should I Use ?
RSS readers primarily fall into three categories:- RSS-aware web browsers or Email Clients (Example: Safari, Thunderbird)
- Web-based: (Example Bloglines )
- Standalone RSS Reader Applications: www.abilon.org
Tips for Selecting an RSS Reader
Bloglines is an easy way to get started. It is a web-based service that requires registration for a free account. Since it is web-based, you can access it from any web-browser and from any location.
Accessing the WSU Libraries New Book List via RSS
- Select the link at the top of this page to display the RSS version of the New Books List or select the RSS link from the main New Books Page.
- Select up to three subject categories by checking the box next to each category.
- Click the button below the subject categories to display the web-address (URL) of the RSS Feed. Copy and paste this URL into your RSS reader.
