Overview

To read news on a PDA, you need to create your news channels through Avantgo. Avantgo is a free software service that delivers website content to your PDA. Through Avantgo, users are able to read existing web content on the Internet in a format that is optimized for a small PDA screen. Avantgo provides a variety of free news channels for you to subscribe and syncrhonize to your PDA.

To use Avantgo free service, you need to 1) register for a free AvantGo personal account; 2) download the free AvantGo connect software, and 3) install it to your computer. Each subsribed user is given certain amount of server space free of charge. To get more space on Avantgo account, you need to pay. Visit AvantGo site for details.

Subscribing to an AvantGo Channel

Go to Avantgo (http://www.avantgo.com);
Click on the button 'Get it now!' and fill in an online form to get an account.

Downloaded software.
- Now you sign in your account. Click the button 'Account' on the menubar and the link 'Download Softwares' listed under Software on the left side column and follow the instruction to install the software to your computer.
- Click the link ' Software Configuration' listed under Software on the left side column to make sure Avantgo connection is successful.
Click the button ' Channels' on the menubar and find an interesting channel by browsing the channel subject directory, or popular or recommended channel list on the left pane.
Click the link 'Add' next to the channel to which you are interested, and the channel will be added to your ‘personal channel subscription list'.
Synchronize your device and tap the AvantGo icon on your PDA to read the channels to which you subscribed.

Read Avantgo Channels on PDA

Tap Avantgo listed on the program screen
The channels you subscribe will be listed on the screen. Tap individual channel to read the news in details.
