  • AccessMedicine

    A repository of medical knowledge from internal medicine, cardiology, genetics, pharmacy, diagnosis and management, basic sciences, patient care, and more. Continuously expanding, all databases in the repository contain the latest editions of selected medical titles. Includes images, and is a good source for pill identification. Links to AccessSurgery and USMLEasy.

  • Cochrane Library

    The Cochrane Library contains high-quality, independent evidence to inform healthcare decision-making. It includes reliable evidence from Cochrane and other systematic reviews, clinical trials, and more. Cochrane reviews provide the combined results of the world's best medical research studies and are recognized as the gold standard in evidence-based health care.

  • Essential Evidence Plus

    A collection of medical evidence and tools that you need to keep current in the world of medicine. It includes hundreds of evidence-based answers to the important clinical questions, EBM guidelines and guideline summaries, Cochrane abstracts, POEMs, Derm Expert, ICD-9 codes, CME, and calculators.

  • Exam Master

    Includes thousands of USMLE Step 1, 2, and 3 questions, medical subject review, and certification review questions.

  • MD Consult

    Offers integrated access to: Differential Diagnosis Files, Medical Condition Files, Patient Education Files, Reference Centers for practical advice on non condition-specific topics, and Procedures Files for guidance on surgical and diagnostic procedures. Requires personal account. Register at MD Consult.

  • MedlinePlus

    MedlinePlus is an authoritative source for reliable consumer health information with extensive information from the National Institutes of Health and other trusted sources. Including over 750 topics for diseases and conditions, medications, illustrations, surgery videos and links to local resources through the National Library of Medicine's Go Local project. Consumers and health professionals alike can depend on information that is authoritative and up to date.

  • National Guideline Clearinghouse (NGC)

    A public resource and comprehensive database of evidence-based clinical practice guidelines and related documents. The NGC is an initiative of the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ), U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.

  • Natural Standard

    Founded by clinicians and researchers to provide high quality, evidence-based information about complementary and alternative therapies. Information is incorporated into comprehensive monographs which are designed to facilitate clinical decision making. For each therapy covered by Natural Standard, a research team systematically gathers scientific data and expert opinions.

  • PubMed@Wayne

    • PubMed MEDLINE is the National Library of Medicine's premier bibliographic database that contains references to journal articles from the 1950s to the present in the life sciences with a concentration on biomedicine.
    • In addition, PubMed Clinical Queries (located in the left column) provides specialized PubMed searches for clinicians, including: Search by Clinical Study Category, Finding Systematic Reviews, and Medical Genetics Searches.
    • Free, animated tutorials provide assistance with searching PubMed MEDLINE.

  • UpToDate

    A comprehensive expert-based clinical information resource composed of topic reviews which are written by physician authors. The topic reviews go through an extensive peer review process to ensure accuracy and reliability. UpToDate is designed to provide health care providers with concise, practical answers to medical questions at the point of care, and is a good resource for drug interactions. (Access from Wayne State University computers only.)

  • Videos in Clinical Medicine

    Teaching videos "intended to help students, trainees, and younger physicians to learn procedural techniques from experienced colleagues," from the New England Journal of Medicine.
